FriendFeed Bought, Zune HD Release Date/Pricing & Live Wave 4

TechCrunch has reported that Facebook has purchased FriendFeed for an unknown amount of money. Both companies say that operations will remain as normal and the FriendFeed API will continue to work as normal as well. FriendFeed has 12 employees and some of them come from big-time companies, including Google. Any more news on this deal will appear on FriendFeed’s blog.

Last week we reported on the leaked images of the upcoming Microsoft Zune HD and now we have a preview video from a recent GDGT launch party. The video shows off the user interface and some playback of various media. We know the following about the Zune HD: 3.6-inch OLED touch screen, NVIDIA Tegra graphics, HDMI port, HD radio, and WiFi enabled. Prices also leaked from the BestBuy inventory system for the ZuneHD as being $220 (16GB) and $290 (32GB) and a release date of September 8th.

Some new details from Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Live Wave 4 has emerged by means of LiveSino.net. Two new services were found, Windows Live Devices and Windows Live Documents. The Live Documents will replace the current Live Workspaces and will give users online access to their documents and will include lightweight versions of Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint. Live Devices seems like it will be a file synchronization service that will sync files between computers. These two new services are expected to be made available in beta form in October and the final release when Office 2010 launches in late 2009 or early 2010.
