Microsoft Office 2010 Technology Guarantee Program Announced

Microsoft today announced that users who purchase Office 2007 between March 5, 2010 and September 30, 2010 will be eligible for a free upgrade to Office 2010 when it is released later this year. The technology guarantee program, which Microsoft puts in place for all of its products, will allow users to receive an Office 2010 upgrade for the corresponding 2007 version they purchased.

Refer to the following chart for the Office 2007 qualifying product and the eligible 2010 upgrade:

Customers who qualify to receive a free upgrade will have the option to either download Office 2010 when it’s released or receive a DVD for a small fee. This offer also applies for customers who receive a license for a Office 2007 product with a new computer as long as it is purchased between the above dates. Retail sales and activations must also take place during this time frame and all Office 2007 sales must take place through an authorized retailer.

Office 2010 is expected to become available via retail outlets in June 2010.
