| Windows 7 RTM Date: July 13th |

According to many online sources, Microsoft has internally set the RTM (release to manufacturing) date for Windows 7 as July 13, 2009. On this date, Microsoft will have signed off on the latest, stable build of their newest operating system and it will be released to manufacturers to being the process of OEM customization and preloading onto systems in the near future. Keep in mind that this does not mean it will be available to the public on this date, but rather individuals will have to wait until October 22, 2009 for the general release. MSDN and TechNet subscribers will have early access to the Windows 7 RTM probably within 48 hours of the July 13th date if the same happens for Windows 7 as it did for Windows Vista. You can also bet that the RTM will be leaked onto popular torrent sites either before July 13th or shortly after. We haven't confirmed this with our Microsoft insider source yet, but we can say this date seems pretty accurate. We will update this article if our source tells us otherwise or any other relevant information. |
