Having a laptop computer essentially means that your entire life is mobile, so you can access anything you will ever need without being at home on your desktop.

Start off by deciding what the laptop will be mostly used for. If it will be used as a desktop replacement, you'll want a more powerful laptop with a larger screen. However, if it will be used more on-the-go, you will want to consider an ultralight notebook. Pay attention to the weight, the size of the screen, the rated battery life, and the selection of inputs on the laptop as well.
